Conformity has long been a haunting and enduring construct for members of their general community all over the globe. Wherever it may be, there will always be those that believe assimilation and following the status quo is the way to go about a sensible life - for the better of the greater public. And among those, are also the black sheep, the free thinkers, the individuals who stick their middle fingers up to falling in line.

 

We, the contributors to Alt-Natives and you, our readers, belong to the latter. Altruism is a peachy notion in theory, but what good is it to limit our interests, put up a facade and compromise the core of who we are as individuals in the name of people-pleasing? Fuck that. There will always be space for the people who seek to pursue an alternative way of living.

 

We dive into the flip-side. Trailblazing creatives, hubs fostering the next generation of rebellious talent, non-conformist hobbies and ways of living and anything out of the ordinary are our focus. Just as there is room for people who want to live conventionally, people who don’t should be afforded the same accommodations. We hope that you are able to see even a glimpse of yourself in the unapologetically unorthodox individuals and communities who provide all the colour to our publication.
